FAQs

Is the evaluation version of Prospector a "lite" version that has restrictions?

No. You will be evaluating the very same software our Prospector customers use. There are no restrictions. All 3D and 2D programming features are enabled. Import and machine your own data. In short, what you see is what you get if you choose to license Prospector.

I'm having problems with the download from my browser. Can you help?

Sure. Just call us (800-280-0240 / 248-458-0359) or e-mail us support@amt-software.com and we'll help you acquire the software.

I downloaded and installed the software. Now what?

Visit Prospector U. Prospector U. is a comprehensive series of training videos to get you up and running fast. Start with the 101 series to understand the essential concepts of Prospector. As you become more proficient, watch the 200, 300 series and so on to learn more about all the features of Prospector. Don't forget to engage training mode to access all the projects and data files that accompany the videos.

Do I have to have an internet connection to run the software?

Yes. The 30-day evaluation uses an iLicense where authorization to run is granted by making a secure connection (SSL) to the licensing web server that will authorize your computer to run the software.

I need more time to evaluate Prospector. Can I get an extension?

Maybe. Call us to explain the circumstances and we'll see what we can do to help.

I'm having problems understanding the software. I there help available? Can I call someone?

The Help for Prospector is very comprehensive if you like figuring things out yourself. All the information is there. If you are still stuck trying to figure something out, call Customer Service - 800-280-0240 or 248-458-0359. Remember, we want you to be successful with the evaluation!

Can I get a different post processor for the evaluation?

Call our Customer Service team for assistance. They can probably provide you with one that will be more to your liking to use during the evaluation. If you decide to license Prospector, a custom post processor will be provided with your license that will generate the output to your exact specification.

Can I run the software on a tablet computer in the shop?

Sure. Provided the tablet is running Microsoft Windows 64-bit operating system and is powered by an Intel or AMD processor. Keep in mind that the user interface is more oriented towards a desktop computer with a traditional mouse and keyboard so it may be little clunky to use via a touch screen but it can be done. In fact we've tested on a tablet in our computer lab to make sure it does indeed work.
